Rooted in Tradition, Reimagined for Today: Meet The Dawg
Hailing from the great Land o’ Goshen, The Dawg is anything but a traditional acoustic trio. While their foundation is built on the sturdy pillars of bluegrass, folk, and gospel, this seasoned ensemble—featuring Duane Gundy, Jim Shenk, and Randy Horst—refuses to be boxed into a single genre. Formerly known as “Drop the Dawg,” the group rebranded in 2019 to reflect an evolving genre and its new membership. Whether they are reimagining a classic standard or leaning into a country ballad, The Dawg has created a sonic signature to the stage that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly modern that proves acoustic music is a living, breathing art form.
